Newborn Photoshoot

When Eesa was 3 weeks old I did a at home photoshoot with him. I highly recommend taking newborn pictures of your little babe, the newborn phase goes by so quickly and is so precious! There were some pro’s and con’s to doing it myself that I’ll share on here, and then I’ll share the pictures I took 🙂

Pro’s

  • You can do it at the time most convenient to your baby
  • You are in your own environment where your baby is comfortable
  • You can take as many breaks as you need without paying studio time
  • If it is not a good day you can just stop and try again another day
  • You can feed your baby during the photoshoot as needed

Con’s

  • You can’t be in the pictures
  • You may not have the proper materials/skill level
  • You’re biased towards your baby ergo you don’t have a subjective view
  • Your husband can coincidently be napping at the only time your baby is co-operating eliminating him from the photoshoot (okay maybe that’s just me)

The setup for the photoshoot was simple, I took his nursing pillow and draped a fluffy blue blanket that was given to me by a friend. I placed both these onto his glider and worked from there. Here are a few of the shots we got:
